Parking

The Car Park at the Belvoir Trailhead (Eircode V95 YKN5) , was opened in June 2019.  It can accommodate at least 90 cars on two levels. Buses can also be accommodated but advance booking is necessary due to the space they take up and the risk of surface damage to the car park. Great care is also required by bus drivers so as not to damage the entry gates and piers.

There are two public toilets at the Belvoir Trailhead.

HEIGHT RESTRICTION: Please note that advance booking is necessary re the opening of the height restriction barrier.

donation of €1 per seat filled on the bus towards car park and trails maintenance costs would be much appreciated by our voluntary committee. This can be done via the following online link:  https://www.ifundraise.ie/12oclockhills  – mark it as Parking Donation with your name to distinguish it from personal donations.

We also provide guided walks depending on the availability of our volunteers.

PARK AND WALK

There are two start points for walks know as Trailheads.

BELVOIR TRAILHEAD
The main carpark is Belvoir (Eircode V95 YKN5). This is a spacious carpark on two levels with a capacity for at least 90 cars and two public toilets.

SNATY TRAILHEAD
Snaty has limited parking and no facilities. There is roadside parking for 16 cars.

There are three trails on offer which you can start from the Belvoir Trailhead or join from the Snaty Trailhead.

RED TRAIL: A 5 km heritage walk which is mostly flat except for an incline along the Crag river. This linear walk takes in Heritage sites and a Mental Health trail leading to a Fairyland facility for families.

BLUE TRAIL: An 8.5 km fairly strenuous looped walk up and over the 12 O’Clock Hills at 309m elevation. The upper 12 O’Clock Hill has a compass/sundial to remind people of how people measured time before clocks were invented.

PURPLE TRAIL: A 13 km strenuous looped walk for people with a bit more time to spare. This looped walk takes in an additional hill named Loughavarra at 252m and the 12 O’Clock Hills at 309m.

PUBLIC TOILETS

Two public composting (waterless) toilets have been added to the lower level car park at Belvoir Trailhead (Eircode: V95 YKN5).
These toilets are composting toilets so will not pollute the local rivers and lakes.
